Being green is easy!

After work, Tom and I went to check out the Bright Green Day festival in downtown San Jose. It was a perfect day to stroll over to City Hall for the event. It was a green energy and energy conservation showcase. But I must confess that I had an ulterior motive. There were going to be food trucks there! So of course I had to go!

P.S. Royal wedding madness! I loved every minute of it! haha!

Rejected!

I wasn't chosen for the Nike Women's Marathon! Booooo! I was really looking forward to it.

But I'll have to move on and find some other marathon to train for. Luckily I had a back up plan. The San Jose Rock n Roll marathon! It's not as cool as the Nike one but hopefully I'll get to do that next year!

Swag it up!

Went to an expo today for work and loaded up on all the swag! Going to expos are fun! Hopefully I get to go to many more!

Even Jacoby was impressed with all my swag! Right after I took this pic, he got a hold of the nerf football arrow toy and destroyed it. He also ingested part of it! Haha! Crazy dog!

T Minus 4 Days!

It's almost time for the March of Dimes walk! I picked up my shirt today! I'm really looking forward to it!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter everyone! I had a great day. Went to brunch at Tom's parents house to celebrate Easter and also Tom's nephew's 4th birthday!

The adults even got an Easter basket! I was super excited!

Beer festivals are awesome!

My brother was visiting so we decided to go check out the first annual Kraftbrew festival at the San Jose Women's Club in downtown San Jose! It was fun and got to drink some good beers!

Happy Earth Day (and Good Friday!)

Thanks to Earth Day I got free Starbucks! They were running a promo to encourage people to bring in reusable cups to get free coffee! Which I gladly obliged!

And thanks to Good Friday, I had the day off from work! Woohoo!

Red Sox Take 2!

On Wednesday 04.20.11, went to the 2nd and only Red Sox game in the Bay Area! I must say...daytime games are awesome! Had a small tailgate and then saw the Red Sox finally win an away game! Woohoo!  Then went to hang out some more after the game! Fun times! Maybe a little too much fun because I was in bed by 9:30pm. Haha!

I don't look happy in this picture because out of nowhere it started to pour rain during the game! I found refuge but lots of people stuck it out in the rain. Thumbs up to them!

Stupid Oakland!

Went to my first Red Sox game of the season and unfortunately it was a loss! Still no road wins this year but it'll turn around! I predict tomorrow will be better!

Met up with the Bay Area Red Sox Meetup group and participated in their tailgate. It was fun to meet other Red Sox fans and there was so much food! Hopefully I'll attend more events and get to know everyone more!

A winning streak?

The Red Sox have an official winning streak! 3 games! I think our momentum is shifting thanks to Jed Lowrie! Who would've thought he would be the hottest hitter for the Red Sox, let alone the MLB!

I'm SO EXCITED to see them in Oakland Tuesday and Wednesday! Weeeeeeeeee!

Happy Early Earth Day!

Target was giving away free reusable bags today! So I got super excited and went to Target at 8am! Haha! Yes I'm a goober and expected a line but it seems I was the only one excited for it! Ohh well! I'm happy!

Even my dog wants to help me train for my marathons! I didn't realize what a good walking/running buddy he was! We got to enjoy the nice day at the park. What a great Saturday!

Baseball!

Went to the A's game on Friday 04.15.11!

Was disappointed that I didn't get the fleece blanket giveaway but overall it was a fun game. Did a mini tailgate before the game and went to eat chicken and waffles afterwards!

Best of all, I met Stomper! Don't mind me...I was pretty drunk at the time of the picture!

Boring Day!

Nothing particularly exciting happened today! Besides the fact that my legs were so sore it was painful! I did drag myself to the gym today though but that's not that interesting.

So here's a picture of my dog! He got a nice bath today thanks to his grandmother (my mom!) so he was squeaky clean! What a cutie pie!

Run Lydia Run!

I signed up for the Nike Women's Marathon today! Well due to high demand, I entered the lottery so hopefully my group will get chosen!

I signed up for the half marathon (13.1 miles! GASP!) with some friends and I'm excited to start training. Tom is eager to help train me which makes me happy but at the same time I'm cringing just thinking about all the running I'm going to have to do.

Started today though! Just 2 miles but I'll work my way up!

You scream, we all scream for ice cream!

This is my favorite day of the year...free cone day at Ben and Jerry's! I look forward to it every year! haha! I met up with Kat, Anh Thi, and Anh Thi's sister during lunch for our free cones!

Sidenote: This was my second cone of the day (had one while waiting for my friends to show up! haha!) In case you're curious what flavors I had...they were Bonnaroo Buzz and Chunky Monkey!

P.S. It's not the greatest time to know me because I'm in a constant crappy mood thanks to the Sox. Sigh.

No Words...

Well the Red Sox game sucked. Got all excited to watch it at happy hour and BAM! Suffocated me! Well here's a pic of the yummy food and the beer.

I heart TV!

Today I spent quality time with my television! I got caught up on my DVR and had a sports filled day!

I watched the Masters which is one of the only times I pay attention to golf and I sure chose a great event to watch. Lots of fun golf action! (And I'm not being sarcastic! I really mean it! haha!)


Then I watched the Red Sox WIN! WOOHOO! It was troubling to see all the men left on base but right now a win is more important. It was our first series win and best of all...we beat the Yankees! YAY!

Go girl, it's your birthday!

We celebrated Anh Thi's birthday today!

Went to eat dinner at a Thai restaurant and then went back to her house, which is amazing! It's even on a private street! At her house we sang karaoke. Sang might be a strong word. We screamed karaoke! haha! Who knew we were such good singers! ;)

We also had cake from Aki's which has the best cakes ever! Yummmy!

Also thanks to all the karaoke action I got home too late to post this on Saturday April 9th!

Well I love that dirty water!

The Red Sox have won a game!!! And it happened against the Yankees! Ohh happy day! I was in the mood to celebrate so I had a nice and refreshing lambic!

Absence makes the heart grow fonder!

My brother, Jonathan, came to visit today from SF! My dog (Jacoby) only sees him every so often but when he's around, I don't exist. He follows my brother around everywhere! I feel so neglected!

But I must admit, this picture of them is quite cute. I can see the adoration in Jacoby's eyes! haha!

What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas!

I finally saw The Hangover! Yes I know I'm 2 years behind and yes I'm probably the only person in the world who hasn't seen it yet. But at least I saw it now!

So now whenever someone quotes the movie or talks about it, I can finally participate. Except no one is talking about the movie anymore! haha!


Well at least when the sequel comes out, I will be in the loop and know what's going on.

Also, I am not in the right state of mind to mention anything about baseball.

Yoga was necessary for the type of day I was having! Work is super busy and keeping me pretty stressed. There are not enough work hours in the day.

So after the kind of workday I had, I was looking forward to some Red Sox baseball. Alas, that left me stressed too. Obviously there's plenty of baseball left but argh. Still frustrating to watch.

So yoga and some cardio did a body good!

Famous Lydia's!

To help with a stressful workday, Tom and I went to Famous Dave's for some beer & bbq! One thing I love about this place (besides the good food!) is the cool decor. Lots of funky memorabilia that looks like things hidden away in your parents' garage. Another cool part is that when they call you to your table, they put the word Famous in front of your name! I'm amused by the most random things! haha!

Also YAY UCONN! Thanks to you guys, I won my bet! Free lunch! Woohoo!

P.S. I just figured out that I can make the pictures bigger! Haha!

Are all my posts about food?

I realized as I was about to upload my picture of the day that this picture was yet again about food! I should have titled this blog my food photo journal! haha! Anyhoo!

I wanted to bake something today for several reasons:

1. The Red Sox were upsetting me. I know it's only the first series of the season but it's still a bit frustrating. Baking always puts me in a good mood which is what I needed. 
2. Today is Tom and I's 10 month anniversary! Yay! 
3. I had received cupcake/muffin liners for Christmas and I never got to use them. Even though it's April, I wanted a little bit of Christmas cheer! 

So I made apple cinnamon muffins!

But here's my little secret...I used a box mix from Trader Joe's. Shhh! Don't tell anyone.

Food trucks galore!

Today was SJ Eats which was a food truck festival in downtown San Jose. It was a lot of fun to check out the various food trucks which I have become quite obsessed with. It's a personal goal of mine to try them all! And I think I've come pretty close!

But waiting in those long lines required a lot of patience! Good thing I had plenty of friends to help pass the time.

Hopefully this becomes a regular thing because with a little more organization and in a larger space, this could become a really fun event!

Also what's up with the Red Sox! 0-2! Argh!

Who turned off the lights?

My mom and I had planned on going on a date tonight! We were supposed to go out to eat and go shopping. So after work, we get to the shopping center and we noticed the parking lot seemed really empty but thought nothing of it. And then we realized that the whole plaza was dark! All the stores were closed because they lost power and no one had any idea when it would come back on.

Since we were hungry we went to the closest food place...In-N-Out! Haha! So much for a nice meal out! Granted our burgers and fries were yummy!
