I needed some cheering up so what cheers me up (besides my dog)? Some much needed retail therapy! Malls can be so soothing sometimes. I feel much better now!

Meet Gio!

Tom adopted a dog today from the Humane Society of Silicon Valley! Gio (well his original name was Tito)! He's a boxer and such a cutie! Yay! Happy day!!

 

Also this is my 100th post! Wow! I've been doing this blog for 100 days! 

I miss my TV!

My TV is broken! Wahhhhhhhh! It's currently at the service shop getting fixed. I cannot believe it's broken! I feel so empty!

So in order to save myself from boredom, I decided to catch up on my magazine reading.

Note to self: Don't ever buy a Samsung Plasma again! Ugh!

My essentials!

 

Cheese, bread and wine are my food essentials! The charcuterie was a nice plus! Yummy!

Alice's Summerthing!

Went to a free concert in Golden Gate Park which was sponsored by Alice 97.3 with Kat! Got there in time to see One Republic and polished off 2 bottles of wine!

Then tried to catch a cab to go eat at Cha Cha Cha but ended up walking the 1.5 miles to the restaurant. I thought I was going to die of starvation!

On the way we made a pit stop at a random Irish pub! We invented a drinking game to chug our beers! haha! 

Once we got to the restaurant, we ordered several tapas and a half pitcher of sangria. We were so drunk and so full that we had to take the sangria "to go" in my thermos! Hahaha!

Wine, wine, and more wine!

I love when my brother visits! Not only because it's good to see him, but because everytime he comes over he brings wine! And lots of it! It's one of his perks for working at BevMo in the wine buying department! So exciting to see the different kinds of wines he brings.

Pretty toes!

I finally used my Groupon from several months ago for a mani/pedi! The place was mediocre but the Groupon was such a good deal, I didn't mind.

The one thing I did like was that they had Essie nail polish!

One of my favorite things about summer is getting pedicures! They are the best thing ever! So relaxing!

Music in the park!

What a random night! Originally Kat, Tom and I wanted to check out Music in the Park because tonight was a Beatles tribute band! So we went to grab some food at a couple of food trucks then went bar hopping around downtown before heading over to the concert.

We went to a wine bar for wine tasting and got stuck chatting it up with the wine distributor and the owner of the bar. I thought it was informative but was a total buzz kill!

After that we went to a bar set up outside of the concert area to hear some songs and then went to McCormicks & Schmidt which has the best happy hour menu EVER! Fun night!

Worst Netflixer Ever!

I really suck at Netflix! I got my DVD a few days ago and finally opened it today! Didn't even know what movie it was! I am happy to report it's Kick Ass (yay a movie I wanted to watch!).

In the past year, I believe this is only 3rd DVD! haha! And one of them was reported lost because I returned the wrong DVD (thanks a lot Tom!).

So basically they've been taking my money! I guess I better start watching some movies!

P.S. Today's Red Sox loss was sooooo bogus! 

I heart social media!

I got 2 free tickets to try this new frozen "yogurt" place in dtsj called Whipps, courtesy of Dishcrawl! I got the tickets through Twitter!

They have this machine that takes frozen fruit and whips it to get a smooth consistency! It's really like ice cream/frozen yogurt but it's all just fruit! It was so good (especially with this heat) and actually really good for you!

Before that, Tom and I went to partake in happy hour and got a free appetizer for checking in on Foursquare at Firehouse Bar & Grill !  Social media is awesome!

I'm melting!!!

The story of the day is the heat! Today was in the low 90s and tomorrow is going to be even hotter! Ack! I hate the heat! Sweaty Lydia = Grumpy Lydia!

Happy Father's Day!

We had a low key Father's day since my brother wasn't coming home until next weekend.

So my mom and I asked my dad what he wanted for dinner. His answer...chicken wings! haha!

Girls Night Out Part 2!

Kat and I went out for our monthly girls night out! It was such a nice day, we started the evening sitting outside with margarita sangria swirls!

Then went walking around downtown Campbell!

Fun night!

Beeeeeer!

Took the day off to check out the Anchor Steam Brewery in SF! It's a really awesome tour! You get to see each step of their beer making process and then we got samples! Lots of samples actually!

Had a great day in the city!

P.S. Red Sox come home with an 8-1 record on their last road trip! Yay!

Lunar Eclipse!

Unfortunately my picture of the moon does it no justice! It was absolutely beautiful tonight!

The lunar eclipse is great luck for Boston teams!

The Bruins won the Stanley Cup tonight, Josh Beckett threw a 1 hit, shutout, complete game against the Rays (it was his first 1 hitter and he only used 97 pitches!), and best of all...there was a lunar eclipse in 2004 and we all know what happened then!

I love shoes!

I've been trying to resist the urge to buy a pair of Toms but I couldn't help it after I saw the platforms at Nordstrom! Aren't they adorable? Perfect summer shoes! Plus a gal can never have enough shoes!

Look what I drew!

I forgot to take a picture while I was at the gym, so I decided to put my drawing skills to the test and draw a picture of me on the treadmill.

Unfortuantely, this was the best I could do! haha! And I must confess, this was my 3rd draft! hahaha!

Maybe I should work on my drawing skills...

Flo!

Saw Florence and the Machine in concert at the Greek Theater in Berkeley and she was awesome! I could hear her sing all night long! It was the perfect venue for her and her voice is really amazing! Another plus was that this was her first show from her US tour. Glad to have been the first to see her on this tour. I can't wait for her new album to come out!

Brewfest!

Went to the 2nd Annual Bay Area Brewfest at Fort Mason in SF! All you can drink beer and food trucks parked outside is the makings of a wonderful day! 

After the brewfest, went to watch some soccer at a nearby bar and then drank more beers at Toronado and had yummy sausages at Rosamunde!

The best part of drinking early is by 9:30pm you are done for the day! haha!

P.S. The Red Sox are on FIRE!

Friday Deals!

One of the best things about Fridays is that Whole Foods has a daily special! Today's special was on sea scallops! Only $9.99/pound! It's a great deal for some real quality seafood. Seasoned them with just some kosher salt and pepper and had them with some brown rice and asparagus. Yummmy!

I got a baseball!

Originally I was going to post about helping Tom setup at his new apartment but when I got home I had a wonderful surprise waiting for me!

I got my Theo Epstein signed baseball in the mail! Recently I started following Theo's charity, Foundation To Be Named Later on Twitter and they were giving this away to a random follower. Guess who that random follower was? ME! Very exciting!

And you know what else is exciting? Sweeping the Yankees at home!! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Hooligans in Wondaland!

I went to the Bruno Mars and Janelle Monae concert at the Bill Graham in SF with Tom tonight and I must say it was one of the best shows I've seen in awhile!

Even though Bruno Mars was the headliner, Janelle Monae stole the show! Her stage performance was amazing and her band was equally as amazing! If you ever have a chance to see her in concert...YOU MUST!

Bruno Mars was good too though! He is a great vocalist and all the girls were going crazy for him!

Prior to the concert, we ate at Emmy's Spaghetti Shack and it was DELISH! One of the best spaghetti and meatballs I've eaten! Plus their chocolate cake dessert with toffee sauce and candied pecans was phenomenal!

Welcome home!

So my dad came home from a 6 week business trip today. I was excited to be able to pick him up from the airport because he would be flying into the new Terminal B! I, however, made the mistake of taking my dog with me.

So I'm parked trying to take a picture of the pretty new terminal and Jacoby is going nuts trying to look at everything and stick his head out of the window.

Also it took me awhile to figure out how to get to the new terminal so I had to make 2 loops around the airport which added to the mania!

So you're left with a boring picture of my dad's luggage bag as my photo of the day! haha!

Pick a toy...any toy!

My dog is the funniest dog ever! He lined up all his toys today in a circle. He was either having a tea party with his toys, or he was trying to sell his toys to me! Haha! Either way, it was quite adorable to see him line them all up like that!

Napa Day 3!

Final day in Napa! Was really sad to leave. We had coffee at this really cute place. It was a caboose that is actually an Inn and a coffeeshop. Note to self, must stay at the Caboose Inn next time I'm in the Napa Valley!

On our way home we did stop in Oakland to have brunch and grab a few beers! Great way to end the fun filled weekend! Sad to have to go to work Monday!

Napa Day 2!

Went to 6 different wineries on our wine tasting adventure! I really love the Napa Valley. It was really beautiful and so green! Even though it was pouring rain all day, we still had a wonderful time and still got to enjoy the view!

Napa Day 1!

 

Went to eat at Tyler Florence's new restaurant, Rotisserie & Wine! It was so good! It was upscale comfort food. I also loved how all the waiters and waitresses wore flannel shirts! Fit the southern food theme! Great way to start off the weekend!

Early bird catches the worm...or something like that!

I went to the Rise & Shine Benefit Breakfast for Hope Services this morning! It started at 7:30am so I had to get up early. As many know, I am not a morning person! haha!

The keynote speaker was Jane Pauley. She's a great speaker (obviously) and I never knew she was diagnosed with bipolar late in her life. It was a very inspirational event and I'm glad I got up early to attend!

Did I miss a wedding?

So I got the funniest direct mail letter today. It was addressed to my brother but sent to my address and said, "Congratulations on your new marriage!"

I can't believe my brother got married without telling me or even inviting me! hahaha! 

Also, the Red Sox getting swept by the White Sox is really disheartening! Sigh...
